ATV trails
Our hotel is homed between some of Virginia’s most interesting Appalachian trail destinations, where you can rev out on our thrilling all-terrain vehicles (ATV).
Ride Virginia’s rugged landscapes from a unique vantage point, through the winding trails and off-road zones. We provide experienced guides who know the ins and outs of the terrain to ensure you stay safely on course throughout the drive.
Conquer the challenging roads, creek crossings and soak in the vistas opening up before you. Our ATV provisions go beyond giving you an automobile to ride; it is one of the ways we help you embrace the sensations that come with pushing boundaries and forging a connection with the unfamiliar landscapes that contribute to Virginia’s strong allure.
Charm Peak’s mountain-view trail initiative offers up to a hundred miles of natural ways connecting St Paul to Coeburn. The stretch has an ample mix of green, blue, and black trails accompanied by picturesque views. All the places we trail into are ATV-friendly, safe, and most importantly, appealing to see.
Kayaks
For those taken to water-based adventures, a kayaking tour may be the perfect getaway idea. You can rough it with low-cost campsite spaces, or add some style with a bed and breakfast/spa treatment. This is an equally interesting way to tour some of Virginia’s most beautiful waterways.
The tapering waterways that border First Landing State Park are one of our favorite places to kayak into. Known to locals as The Narrows, it is attractive because of its calm waters and low traffic, which empties into Broad Bay and Linkhorn Bay. The overall experience is perfect for kayakers of every skill level.
These inland waterways are also our favorite spots to take in a relaxing sunset. We also arrange sunset-guided tours for small groups. You are welcome to bring your equipment if you have it, but kayaks will be provided for anyone who needs them.
For more skilled kayakers, you can head out into the majestic Atlantic Ocean to do some fishing and reel catches of strippers, bluefish, and tau tog among others.
Gun range
If you are looking to hone your craft in precision shooting and other target sports, we have gen range sessions that offer the avenue to better your marksmanship skills in a safe and regulated environment. With the guidance of certified instructors, guests can practice with various firearms, from pistols to rifles.
Our commitment to safety ensures that both beginners and experienced shooters can enjoy an enriching experience. We provide an avenue to travel into the Wild West, providing up to 45 minutes of fire action and a selection of over 15 targets at various heights and distances to test your abilities.
The staff at the range are quite friendly, knowledgeable, and committed to helping you make good on your passion for the sport. They manage what is one of the most handicapped-accessible shooting ranges in the region, helping people like you and educating the community of new and intermediary shooters.
